The 609 Media Solutions Web site went live today, which in my mind makes us a real company now. I wrote its first blog post, with tentative principles we’ll apply to Web site design.
We’ve also started a Facebook Group, which acts as a type of opt-in list for what’s going on in the company. Some companies talk too much about themselves: we want to hold out for announcements that would really bring in the business. My partner wants to sell e-mail blasts to Grafix customers, as he already has a large e-mail list; one day we can sell them to other types of customers as well.
Of course, we’re on Twitter already: need to raise up some followers there. There’ll be some principles involved there, and we need to develop them. Because we’re going to sell Twitter services, such as event coverage, for instance.
And the Grafix end of the business – the most mature area – has been up on MySpace for some time now. My partner was developing MySpace backgrounds long before he brought me in to help grow the business.
We’re just working out a logo and site theme – something we can re-use with Twitter, perhaps. Again, principles will come out of this exercise, which can be applied to future customers.
